Sandy Speckman will host a HLAA holiday party on Sunday, December 16 at her home at 16 Valley Front, Plymouth from 2-4 pm. This event is to provide an opportunity to socialize and learn from each other how each of us copes with our hearing loss. Fuether details will be forthcoming. Even though Sandy asked at the meeting on November 10 how many were interested (and not too many raised their hands), she has decided to still have it, regardless of how many people attend. If 5-10 people attend, that’s fine. When the HLAA Plymouth Chapter meetings were started three years ago, not too many people attended. There would be 7 people in the audience. Our chapter is developing slowly and building gradually, but it is growing in attendance. Having 25 people at the last two meetings show this. There’s a need to educate ourselves and others on hearing loss. We can advocate for ourselves. We can ask for open captioning for live events if we need it. We can ask for looping and assistive technology. We have much more to accomplish! We need YOU to advocate.
