MEETINGS

The last meeting of HLAA/Plymouth Chapter for the year is on May 22. Topic is:  Reach Out!  Helping Yourself and Others.  It’s being held at the Stonebridge Club, 55 Stonebridge Rd. in the Pinehills.  They recently added a loop to their rec room, and this meeting will be to test it out.  It will be held from 7 to 8:30 pm.   Click HERE for meeting info

Future meetings:

  • July 23: Chapter Board meeting. Anyone is welcome to join our board.  Future meeting topics will be decided at this meeting.  If you have an idea for a meeting topic, please let a board member know about it. Thank you.
  • August 6: Pool party in Duxbury at a member’s home.  More information to follow.

HLAA NATIONAL
HLAA National dues are now $35 but as of July 1, they’re going up to $45.  Join now before they go up.  You can sign up as a national member at the meeting on May 22.  Bring a check made out to:  HLAA.  $35 for individual membership and $45 for a couple.  For more details about membership, go to:   HLAA Membership Information or see page 18 of the May/June Hearing Life magazine.  Veterans get a free one-year membership.

OPEN CAPTIONED THEATRE – SPRING/SUMMER
Priscilla Beach Theatre, Plymouth

The Priscilla Beach Theatre is now showing open captioned performances!  The first open captioned performance was on Sunday, May 5.   Other OC dates are on June 2, July 7, August 4, September 8, and October 6.  The first Sunday matinee of each production is open captioned.  You need to request OC access but can sit anywhere in the theatre.  Thanks to Bob Malone for setting this up!  The PBT is the first theatre on the South Shore to provide hearing access on a regular basis, so please thank Bob personally if you benefit:  www.pbtheatre.org
